Welcome to Komichi. By accessing or using our website at app.komichi.io, the marketing site at komichi.io, and the Komichi Web Importer browser extension (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must create an account to use most features of the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

You retain ownership of any content you upload to the Service (books, text, vocabulary lists). By uploading content, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display it to you as part of the Service.
You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload any content. We do not monitor uploaded content but may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law.
When you mark a book as "public", other users of the Service can view and read it. You can change a book's visibility at any time. Do not mark content as public unless you have the right to share it.
Some features require a paid subscription. Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing you agree to pay the fees displayed at the time of purchase.
We may change pricing with reasonable notice. Existing subscriptions will not be affected until renewal.
The Service uses third-party AI providers (such as OpenAI) for features like translations, text-to-speech, and content generation. AI-generated output may not always be accurate. You should not rely on it as a sole source of information.
The Komichi Web Importer extension allows you to import text from web pages into your library. The extension only accesses page content when you explicitly initiate an action. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to import any content you extract.
The Service, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by Komichi. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without permission.
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Komichi shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the United Kingdom.
